Olivier Galipeau joins the Trois-Rivières Lions

Trois-Rivières (July 24, 2021) - The Trois-Rivières Lions are proud to announce the signing of defenseman Olivier Galipeau.

The Joliette native has just won the Kelly Cup (ECHL) with Mathieu Brodeur and the Fort Wayne Komets. In 186 games in the ECHL, Galipeau collected 86 points.

He completed his QMJHL career with the Val d´Or Foreurs, the Chicoutimi Saguenéens and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan amassing 180 points in 308 games. He won the President’s Cup twice (2013-14, Val d'Or & 2017-18, Acadie-Bathurst) and the Memorial Cup in 2017-18 with the Titan.

Galipeau’s 2017-18 season with the Titan had been prolific:

- Winner of the President's Cup (LHJMQ)

- Winner of the Memorial Cup (CHL)

- Winner of the Émile Bouchard trophy (Defenseman of the Year, QMJHL)

- First all-star team

Galipeau returns to Quebec after three seasons in the United States.
